He is an undisputed Jazz great who has provided strong solos and accompaniment to the likes of Max Roach, McCoy Tyner and Miles Davis. His 'Uhuru Group' gained great noteriety in the 1970s because of it's ethinic and funky sound, yet maintaining strong Jazz roots.
